Unidentified Person Dies in Barnsdall
A tornado has claimed the life of an unidentified person in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, a city of about 1,000 people located 40 miles north of Tulsa, according to the local sheriff.
Multiple Tornadoes Confirmed
At least five tornadoes have been confirmed in Oklahoma as a result of Monday night's storms, including the Barnsdall tornado and four others in different areas of the state.
Governor Surveys Damage
Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt visited Barnsdall on Tuesday to survey the damage caused by the tornado. The tornado ripped through the small town, leaving behind significant damage to homes and businesses.
Tornadoes Spotted in Multiple Oklahoma Regions
Multiple tornadoes were reported throughout northeastern and central Oklahoma on Monday night, including the one in Barnsdall. The tornadoes caused damage in several communities, including at least 30 to 40 homes in Barnsdall.
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management is urging residents to remain vigilant and be prepared for further severe weather in the coming days.
