The Film’s History

The Dark Knight is a 2008 superhero film directed by Christopher Nolan from a screenplay co-written with his brother Jonathan. The film is based on the DC Comics character Batman. It is the second installment of Nolan's Batman film trilogy, following Batman Begins (2005) and preceding The Dark Knight Rises (2012).
