Early Life and Political Beginnings

Benjamin Netanyahu, born on October 21, 1949, is an Israeli politician who has played a significant role in Israeli politics for over four decades. Netanyahu's early political career included service as a member of the Israeli delegation to the United Nations and as a member of the Knesset, Israel's parliament.

Prime Minister of Israel

Netanyahu was first elected Prime Minister of Israel in 1996. During his first term, he implemented a number of policies aimed at boosting the Israeli economy and reducing the threat posed by Palestinian terrorism. Netanyahu was re-elected in 2001 and served a second term until 2009. After a four-year hiatus, he was again elected Prime Minister in 2012. Netanyahu's third term was marked by a focus on security issues, including the construction of a security fence along the border with the Gaza Strip and an increase in military operations against Palestinian militant groups.
